There are times, more often than I would like to admit, when I want to draw or I don’t feel like doing art. However, I just don’t know what to draw.
There are some quick checklist stuff I do when I am stuck in a situation like this.
Going through my list of to-dos help me get started.
When the to-dos are not something I FEEL like working on, next on list is my album of photographs I take that are saved onto an album on my mobile.
Scrolling through Pinterest helps me come with ideas of what could be interesting, something I wouldn’t have thought of before. The best part of Pinterest in comparison to google is that, for google you need to enter something to search with and Pinterest just throws up random pictures that could get you started.
Another real cool idea is to do a DTIYs art. It frees your brain cells from trying to come up with something original and portfolio quality and just helps you try some new color palettes and characters I wouldn’t work otherwise.
If none of the above work and I still feel like nothing is interesting then I catchup with my less interesting stuff, like catching up with the emails, updating my websites, researching, or simply chilling on Netflix.
Nevertheless, block yourself time for art and no matter what, use that time for doing art or art related stuff that helps you move one step ahead from where you were yesterday. If for some reason you are unable to make it. Block another time the same day, but just do it, don’t let go of the creative practice. Practicing consistently is what takes you ahead in your creative journey.
The illustration is a self portrait? Is so cute 😍 photography is a big inspiration and can help on art blocks too!
Thanks a ton my friend
